The Plumber Behind the Knowledge
I started plumbing in NYC in the early '90s. Apprenticed under old-school plumbers who learned their trade on the same cast iron pipes that are still running water in half of Manhattan's pre-war buildings.
Got my master plumber license and never looked back. Over 30 years, I've worked on everything from studio apartments in the East Village to high-rise buildings on the Upper West Side. Pre-war brownstones, new construction, commercial kitchens, you name it.
NYC plumbing is different. We can't use PEX or PVC for water lines like the rest of the country. Our buildings have pipe systems that are 80, 100, sometimes 120 years old. You need to know what you're looking at, or you'll make an expensive mistake.
I built this site because I got tired of seeing bad plumbing advice online. Generic tips that don't account for NYC codes, wrong product recommendations, and DIY guides that'll get you in trouble with the DOB. Everything here comes from real experience on real NYC jobs.
When I recommend a product, it's because I've used it. When I write a how-to guide, it's based on jobs I've done hundreds of times. No shortcuts, no BS.
